This image was initially created in conjunction with a class project where we created a digital quilt of animated GIF images featuring rock stars. I chose Janis Joplin because I was attracted to the contrasts in her life and her music as well as the drug that ultimately killed her. It was odd to find such beauty in something so destructive.
